THE SANCTUARY BOARDING KENNELS

The Sanctuary Boarding Kennels are an inspiration by Cherry May which came from her great love of animals starting at a very early age. Her earliest memory, from about the age of two, was being surrounded by animals. This was mainly dogs and cats, but a few exotics as well during visits abroad when her late father was in the RAF.

She moved to Spain in April 2006 and was told by a very well known clairvoyant that she would be moving to Spain and would live in a very unusual house surrounded by animals. This was about twelve years ago and now she’s here!

Cherry has five friendly dogs of her own plus six very large custom built kennels. “Our aim is to make the dogs feel at home – a real home from home” she states. “We encourage owners to visit with their dog prior to their stay as we like to introduce ourselves and our own dogs to them so everyone is comfortable. We treat our ‘guests’ as we would treat our own.”

Everything at the kennels has been designed with the dogs comfort in mind although they do ask owners to bring some familiar items from home. There is a very large play area, security gate and even a dog lounge for the winter evenings! They also have two underground kennels for hot summer days.

Cherry also offers dog walking, and a delivery and collection service is available. Future plans are in the pipeline for a cattery and to create a separate run for dogs who just prefer their own company.

The Sanctuary is just 15 minutes from Iznajar and costs are 8 euros per night for all breeds and sizes. A great stay can definitely be assured!
